Awards and Recognitions
Along with her husband, Pierre Curie, and Marie Curie won the Noble Prize for Physics in 1903, in recognition of their research in spontaneous radiation (Becquerel, who had discovered spontaneous radiation, won the other half). Also in 1903, Marie and Pierre Curie were awarded the Davy Medal of the Royal Society. Marie Curie won a second Noble Prize, this time for Chemistry, in 1911. This one was due to her work in radioactivity.
